Steam VR 2.0 Making Pose-able hands that are attached to a human character
I am pretty new to the Steam VR 2.0 structure, and have been mainly messing around to try and get the hang of it. I have a Human model who's hands I want to control in the same way you would a Steam VR Hand such that the fingers will pose, but the hands won't be locked into following the controllers. Is this possible, and if so how?

I would recommend looking at a plugin like FinalIK that does exactly this.
So, thats exactly what Im doing actually I'm trying to make a final IK character whose hands are both posed by the controller input, and will act as the s$$anonymous$$m VR hands to pick up objects. Is there a means of doing this in final IK that I have just foolishly overlooked?
To be clear, Ideally what I would want is to be able to put the S$$anonymous$$mVR Hand script onto the VRIK persons hand, but obviously that is not compatable
Hey @qtoompuu - Yes that's a good point. I actually just dealt with this a few weeks ago, and ended up using a custom Animator controller for the hands inside the rig. It was no straightforward solution unfortunately and I can't easily share my solution since it's wired into my project :(
No worries, Ive actually found that if I just make a custom hand out of my characters, and have it be the target for the VRIK, I can make it follow pretty well, And then I just needed a custom script to handle in the event that the hands moved too far away, If you ever find an easier or more elegant solution, please do share, Ill do the same
