How do I get pushed Objects to slide like on ice?
Hello unity community, I'm new to unity and 3D programming, tried reading/listening to all the toturials and now I am trying to get my own small game done. Basicly I'm just throwing a sphere against a cylinder (to push it) and want it to slide on the surface like on ice. I put the friction on 0, but that doesnt make it "slidy" like I want. I found some ideas about playercontrolled objects, which are harder to control on ice surface, but that is not what I am looking for.

Im not too sure but I think that applying a small amount of addforce would give the effect you want.

Hi Pincailbur, in the rigidbody
for both the sphere and the cylinder, have you set the mass to appropriate values? If not, you might find you have a scenario equivalent to a feather trying to push a brick. The rigidbody
physics try and relate as much as possible to real world metric values, i.e. kilograms, metres, seconds etc.
Actually the sphere is pushing the cylinder, but it won't slide, but pushed in the air. Like there is some sort of friction.

I've solved my problem by setting the cylinder mass to 0.1, the sphere mass to 15 and tried with the force i need to push it long enough. Also I freezed the y position and the x and y rotation in the rigidbody of the cylinder, so it looks more like pushing it on ice. thanks for the help

If you use this link like @AndresBarrera said, you can just set the Dynamic friction and Static friction to 0 and it will act as ice does. Depending on the mass of your object that you are trying to push, you may need to change tham around a little bit.
