UnitySteer, obstacle avoidance, and wide vehicles
Howdy all. We've been using UnitySteer for a project, and have been really happy with the package. However, I've been running into a problem with spherical obstacle avoidance. Our models will quite happily steer so that their midpoint won't hit an object, but when they move by, their edges clip the obstacles and then they get turned toward the obstacle due to physics. Subsequently, all goes to hell. It seems like there must be a way for UnitySteer to prevent running your shoulders into obstacles when your vehicle is more than one pixel wide, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Any help would be appreciated, even if it's to point out a very simple answer that I'm being blind to.
