Change TMP text color through event trigger

I have a TMP button that uses event trigger component.

On PointerEvent enter I want to change the color of the TMP text that is a child of above button.

I tried creating a color gradient preset and passing it as an argument to a function as shown below, but it didn't work.

Tl;dr: How can I change the color of TMP text using event trigger component on it's parent button?
