Good Tutorials for Saving Player Data

Hi,

Does anyone know of any good tutorials to look at in regards to saving data?

In the game the player can build for example a house I don't know if the works different to just saving Player stats but if it does a tutorial that covers that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

There is a paid course you can get for FREE on Udemy. It covers 5 different methods to save and load data in Unity3D. It covers PlayerPrefs, Text files, Binary Serialization, Xml Serialization and even SQLite! The free coupon link for this course is https://www.udemy.com/saving-and-loading-game-data-in-unity3d/?couponCode=UNITY Goodluck!

My favourite is Unity Live Training: Persistence - Saving and Loading Data https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/modules/beginner/live-training-archive/persistence-data-saving-loading

You will learn about things like DontDestroyOnLoad, PlayerPrefs, and data serialization.

$$anonymous$$ight I ask what you would do if you didn't want to JUST save something simple like a string, a float, or an int?

What if you need to call a class that has serializable information? What if you're calling a class that is inheriting information?

For instance: You have Race and Profession classes. Your race commands your base stats. Your profession dictates the weapons you can get.

So to implement this, you'd have a Player that has RaceA and ProfessionA, let's say. These are now in the Player's script.

But how would you, then, save/load this information?

I have looked around and for the life of me I cannot find ANYTHING.
