Notification from Database
Thanks to lots of tutorials I know how to connect to a MySQL database while my app is running. Thanks to other tutorials I can see how to setup notification either while the app is running or on a schedule. What if i have a peer to peer message system setup using a database and when you are NOT running your game a notification will pop up when someone else messages you. YouTube is not being forthcoming on this. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for this? Naturally my app was running i could get it to check for new messages but what if it wasnt running.
