3D GameObject not visible in UI

Question

Hey, I am currently setting up my ui in Unity. I set up a background and some clouds in front of it (By UI Image). All layers are set to UI. Now, I wanna place a 3D gameobject infront of these ui elements but it just doesn't show up, just in scene view.

I set its layer to UI but it is still not working.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

from my knowledge (correct me if im wrong) but i don't think you can do this you would have to place the object in front of the camera not on the ui
