Can the animator component be attached to the parent of the animating model? And, if so, how can I assign the model?
My situation: At initialization of the level, any Player gets the same player prefab(with all scripts) and the player prefabs get individual character prefabs(Model with animator component).
I want to use animation events in combination with the scripts from the player prefab. I think the best solution is an animator component being attached to the player prefab. But how can I assign a model with an animator component to another gameobject?
Or can an animator component only be assigned to the model? If so, what is the best solution? I want to avoid moving my scripts from the player prefab to the character prefab.
