Windows store app resuming restarts app

I have seen a lot of resources for this on Windows Phone 8.0 but not on UWP.

My Windows Store app currently does not fast resume - every time I leave the app using home button, back key, lock screen key, or interruption, it will completely restart from fresh showing the splash screens.

Is there something similar to 8.0 fast app switch where I can ensure my app will not reload once it's suspended/paused and then resumed?
