Slowmotion Affects Pause menu

I followed a tutorial from brackeys Video and another tutorial by brackeys video and if I have a scene with the slow-motion game object (Time Manager) the pause menu works really bad. If I pause the game the time scale goes to 0 and then slowly goes back to 1. How can I fix this?
