Android: Disable home button
I am creating a children's app and I want the home button to be disabled so the child can't exit from the app, is this possible to do?
Thanks
I don't see why there would be. There isn't really a practical reason to disable a user from being able to leave an application. It would be like disabling the ctrl + alt + del function on computers.
It is very practical, and this comes up constantly regarding CHILDREN's apps.
(Indeed, there are little "rubber covers" and the like you can buy for this very purpose.)
I've no idea on Android. On iOS unfortunately there is no way to "child lock" the plastic home button.
Just came across this issue myself, and the links suggested by @cupsster unfortunately don't seem to work (presumably now outdated). Does anyone have any more recent insight?
For the record note that (on iOS) this feature is now built in to the os for some years now, it is commonly used by parents. ("guided access")
