Monodevelopment opens welcomescreen instead of script (linux)

I tried to add monodevelop manually as in edit > prefrences and added it from /usr/bin/monodevelop but still both the built in and the one that I added every time I open script monodevelop pops up with welcome screen as so alt text

That's the first problem , the second one is even if I went manually to choose the script and open it , It doesn't AUTO COMPLETE unity codes as GameObject , collider , GetComponent ...etc C# auto complete works fine as list for example . I'm using mint 19 . Unity version : Unity-2019.1.0f2 , mono : 7.8.2 build 2
