Question by thollins · Jun 23, 2017 at 04:15 AM · spriteupdateframeskip

2D Sprite Frame Skipping after upgrade to 5.6.1f1

On frame 8 it blanks for a few frames. I slowed the Speed to 0.2 so I could count. When normal speed it looks like a 1900s film with frames going to blank. The sprite becomes invisible. I have deleted the gameobject completely along with the animation and controller. Recreated it in 5.6.1f1 and it still has this frame skipping error. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Up until now I have had zero issues with this system. They've done a great job. I've been using Udemy to learn the system with Internet articles filling in any gaps. Thank you for any time you spend on this question. -T-

Followup: I started a completely new 2D project. GameObject --> Create Empty Add new asset -- Added each frame of sprite bc cant multiselect for some reason. Selected all the sprites now that they are in the project and drop them onto gameobject. Works fine. Changed the pixels per unit from 100 to 400 to shrink it. Reran and it works fine. So its a problem between the two versions of the framework. I will see if I can trace this down within this project. Otherwise we'll have to manually convert the project (holy cow). This is a bit perplexing.

Ok figured it out. $$anonymous$$ain camera is set to X=0 Y=0 Z= -10 (negative ten) The sprite has to be set to X=0 Y=0 Z= -0.0001 or less Not sure why but at least I can move forward. Right !?

The sequence of dropped frames at final testing (15 frames total). skip means the sprite becomes invisible. 1,2,skip,4,skip,6,skip,8,9,skip,11,skip,skip,skip

I'm not going to diagnose this any further. $$anonymous$$oving on. Good luck to all of you who followed this question.
