New 1v1 multiplayer mode: MLAPI or Photon
I'm starting a new multiplayer mode for my current game, it will be simply 1v1. Each will have their own game instance (not 2 player object on the same screen) and you will be able to see the other player's moves in a split screen.
I'm new to multiplayer with unity, and I was thinking that the first player himself will be the host and the 2nd player will be the client. Does that need I don't need for a dedicated server? Or do I need a central server to make the connection between the 2 players?
I know Unity's MLAPI is still in experimental stage but would it make sense to use it for my usecase or use Photon?
