UI Image is more effecient than UI Text?
I notice that having UI text generates all sorts of weird spikes in the profiler. E.g adding outline and shadow could generate an unexpected spike of Garbage collection(16kb) during gameplay. Another example is if I use Text during pause it generates 80kb Garbage collection and other performance hit. Same goes with my game over display. So I tried to replace those UI text with images and to my surprise it went down to 1kb - 3kb. However I notice that using text seemed to be the norm so is my observation correct or am I doing something wrong with how I manage UI text?
