Tearing Polygon as if Paper?

Im trying to allow my players to rip paper from a book, but I'm running into issues locating any documentation about how to accomplish something like this.

I want the paper to tear realistically using some kind of soft body so it tears differently every time. I tried the idea of using an animation, but it's just not good. So I want to find a way to do it with a physics body in some way. Any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing that comes to $$anonymous$$d is using a mesh cutter and defining a few different paths to cut (Presumably zig-zag paths). There's one or two free mesh cutters on the Asset Store. You could create an animation for the mesh cutter game object, and have it waiting at the top of the page for when the player wants to $$anonymous$$r the page. Then, when they click(and drag) you could set the animation bool to true only when they're dragging to make it even more realistic.

Just an idea, good luck!
