Object breaks surface tension and is absorbed by another object

Hello, Below is a basic image of what I am trying to do: alt text

Imagine you have a balloon, you can press down on it and the balloon deforms. If you press hard enough the balloon will pop. Well I am trying create something similar, however instead of popping the object will go inside the other object and then bounce around inside it.

I am new to unity, but not new to programming. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would really help. I have no idea where to start. hence why I am posting this question here.
