Question by Jellyfishfun · Aug 07, 2014 at 02:18 PM · import modelskinned mesh

How to import IK models with textures from Cheetah 3D?

Like many others before, I have searched Google, Unity forums, Cheetah forums for a clear guide for how to accomplish this task.

I have a mesh with multiple textures animated by IK (bones and handles etc.) and when I import it into Unity am not able to properly assign the UV Map baked texture from Cheetah 3D to the mesh in Unity.

I see many partial answers and folks who have asked this question before and solved it, but never posted their solution.

I apologize in advance for asking a question that has been asked before, but in every thread I have found where it was asked before the question was never fully answered.

Can anyone direct me to a resource site or an previous thread that clearly and accurately for Unity 4.5.x explains how to do this?

I can make the UV map in Cheetah, but as others before me, I am stumped as to how to get the perfectly rendering 3D model out of Cheetah 3D and into Unity (export Cheetah model into Unity with textures intact). The Cheetah 3D model always just has the blank material with only a base color for each material in the original Cheetah version.

Maybe, if one of you who has asked this and learned it could share that knowledge...

This is Cheetah 6.x and Unity 4.5.x versions.

Thank you!
