fog not displaying at all.
So i searched and couldn't find a topic where someone had this problem (as i always try to do before asking a question) but what's happening is when i turned on fog in the render settings it doesn't appear in the scene or game views. Is there something im missing or does this feature require pro ?

Only Pro, sorry :(
Here's right from the site. (http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Components/script-GlobalFog.html)
"As with the other image effects, this effect is only available in Unity Pro and you must have the Pro Standard Assets installed before it becomes available."
You could always try making your own fog. Off the top of my head I'd try having a plane or two with alpha channels in front of the camera and parented to it. On a script change the render layer of the fog based on a raycast to nearest objects. There are probably much better ways and full tutorials on how to do it.
