Why built-in MonoDevelop for Unity doesn't launch?
Basically I've described my problem, so I can't edit a script now.

I already know the answer, guys, thank you all. It's because I didn't have Microsoft .NET Framework installed on the computer. It is necessary to support all kinds of script writing.
This isn't an answer. You should better comment these.
I also thought about renewing my NET Framework. Thanks $$anonymous$$bert.
Well, actually I got SP3. And I needed to install the latest Net Framework for this pack. This might help You, kost.
After I installed Net Framework 3.5 monodevelop launched. So I go on.

I had the same problem. Try holding down the key with the Windows icon and repeatedly pressing on the left or right arrow keys. It may be off the screen. I've only ever had this problem in Monodevelop.
I did, actually. But I had a different solution to the same problem and thought it might be useful to other Unity users. Was it really necessary for you to take all of the time and effort to post something sarcastic on a noob's very first post?
Because: 1. your answer is not relevant to the question asked: it is not about disappearance of window but launching a particular application. 2. digging up an old topic is not a good habit, unless you add something really useful. 3. this question has already been answered and the answer accepted.
Thank you Yankin... The accepted answer did not do it for me, but your post is a jewel. This was driving me up a wallwall... you brought me back down to aaahhhh! running again! ...I had installed a new screen and messed with resolution settings... you can guess the rest.

Well (I know this is a stupid question) did you install it with your unity package? If so then try re-installing unity all together. That might fix your problem.

Well, yes, I did. And I re-installed it then. It just doesn't run. Should I get a new MonoDevelop separatelly from Unity?
Unity ship a modified version of $$anonymous$$onoDevelop. So if you get a regular version, some features will not work (such as debugging).

Did you check that it is set in Edit->Preferences... [General]/External Script Editor?
If not, you should click on Browse... and reset the location of MonoDevelop binary (this should be in Unity/MonoDevelop/bin).
I went there. There was 'built-in editor'. I followed to a folder you said, marked $$anonymous$$onoDevelop and then it changed to '$$anonymous$$onoDevelop' in Preferences. But it still doesn't run.
Are there any error messages showing in Console or in Editor Log?
On this computer it just doesn't run without any notifications. But installed Unity on another computer and launched $$anonymous$$onoDevelop. It didn't run too, but at least it showed an error message. I've downloaded Unity from official site. I don't know why is that happening.
