Adding material to sprite causes unwanted background
I'm experimenting with 2d normal maps and have made a toy example of a tree. The normal map works in that a point light bounces light off at an angle, but I don't know where this ugly background effect is coming from. What is this and how can I get rid of this?
edit: this appears to be unrelated to the normal map. Adding a brand new material causes the same effect.
The normal map made using GIMP's normal map plugin (looks fine to me)
visual effect and material information
Try changing the material 'Rendering $$anonymous$$ode' from 'Opaque' to 'Transparent'
