Writing a shader that emulates graphic novel coloring

Hi, I'm very very new to shader writing, and my goal is to write one with a style of lighting that emulates the soft gradient coloring that the French artist Moebius did in illustrations such as this one: http://i.imgur.com/5bd4Sh7.jpg

So, in effect, this shader would let me determine a certain range of colors, and render a range between them for higher and lower light intensity, so that the pixels closer to the light are the lighter color. I'd imagine this isn't too hard to do.

Is there a shader out there that already does this? I've looked at gradient ramps and such, but they don't seem to respond to lighting in the way I'd like them to.

What you're describing is pretty much exactly what a toon shader with gradient ramp does. In what way did that not respond to lighting in the way you'd like?

Posterization is the word you are looking for by the way. Google that in conjunction with Unity and you find lots of shaders that do such a thing.

I am now looking for such information, which is why I read the questions. Maybe I'll find a useful answer. In my opinion, writing is a complex process and you need to know a lot in order to write something like a novel. In cases when I need to write something, the APA paper writing service page with a professional writing service helps me. After all, writing various literary works, especially with citations, is very difficult and requires knowledge.
