Scifi racing track
Hello, I am currently trying to build a spaceship/hovercraft racing game and since I'm not very good at making models I am trying to find assets that would work as a racing track, with banks, curves, etc. However I have scoured the assets store and the only ones I can find are flat standard roads, if you know of some assets I should look at please give me a link.Thank You!
while some decent games use modular race track parts, most of the really good ones create the track as the level. take star wars episode one racer for example. there was a hand full of levels, but within each there was many ways they could block the natural terrain to make you use a different route, making it a completely different track.
but that aside, sci-fi racing games in particular don't work well with standard race track packs simply cause then you essentially just have a very drifty fancy looking car on a normal track.
Would something like SuperSplines work for this goal?
you would really only need goal points then at key places in your tracks design. the most simplistic being a ring you have to fly through.
the track itself would just be the rings placed in the scene, possibly with some small asteroid debris. floating around for added interest/challenge.
Also I am not really planning to have the track be on terrain, i would rather have the scene in space and the track not anchored to anything. I have been looking at making the track in blender; however, i don't really know how to make the track and how i would export it, so that i could use a mesh collider in unity. Thank you.
