How to make random spots light up?
Hello Unity Community, I have a sphere made out of hexagons representing earth. I already got some textures, but everything looks the same, because I only have one grass texture, one sand texture and so on. I wondered if instead of creating new textures with some variations it would be possible to create something like a layer wich wraps around the sphere, making some random spots brighter and make it more interesting to look at. If anybody of you has an idea I would be very pleased to know about it, because I don't have any idea how to achieve something like that. Every help much appreciated, thank you in advance. EDIT: I came to that idea while watching various games on YouTube for inspiration, and i noticed that one game also had a tile system, but there were spots including multiple tiles where the grass was brighter, and I wondered if the devs really created extra textures for each of these spots.
