What programs do you use for graphics?

I have never used unity before, and was wondering what programs you use to make 3d graphics. Is there a 3d graphics creator built in? I have heard that you use Blender to create the graphics, and Adobe Flash to create HUD's, and menus. Is this true? Also any tutorials on creating 3d graphics, and animating would be nice.
