Question by Devistute · May 30, 2016 at 11:31 AM · rotationanimationclipkeyframes

Unity 5.3.5 + 5.4 Beta, Animation messes up during first and last keyframe.

So lately i have been struggling with this "bug" with newest Unity, and also with newest Beta of 5.4. So basically, the problem is with the built-in animation tool. Im trying to explain the best i can how this happens.

  1. So i add first keyframe to the animation, i have character model for this. I rotate his head slightly to left.

  2. Now that first keyframe is set up, i add second one "Second" away in the animation line and rotate the head so he would be looking at something.

  3. Now instead of smooth rotation slightly to left, i get insane head spin around its axis until the keyframe gets to 1 second mark. This Head Spinning happens between First and last keyframe, and by checking the heads transform it has suddenly jumped Y and Z axels over 350 degrees with no reason?

Im going nuts with this. Sometimes, the animation has worked fine but then out of nowhere this has started to happen again and i cant continue making the animation since its not working right.

Any help would be great, i went back to Unity 5.3.4, the animation tool is working fine in this one.

Unfortunately I experience the exact same problem with the built-in animation system. I use Unity 5.3.4f1. When I try to animate a UI Text simply to move up on its Y plane it sometimes doesn't behave properly. The interesting thing is that sometimes the animation works well sometimes it doesn't. Hopefully this will be solved in the official 5.4 release.
