Question by Prd_Animator · Jan 13, 2014 at 08:52 AM · lightingrendering

how to render scene in unity

hi, is there any way to render a scene in unity like max, maya or blender, actually we are using pre-rendered textures in unity, is there any way to avoid pre-rendered texture and creating lighting and shadow effects in unity as similar as in maya, max or blender or any 3d program.

Thanks

Unity renders at like 60 times per second (unlike $$anonymous$$aya etc.) Screen capture is nice. What do you mean by 'pre-rendered'? Do you want to bake lighting (and shadows)?

pre-rendered means we are using rendered texture( textures can be rendered in any 3d application)

Unity uses a very different rendering engine to any 3d modelling program. You can't get the same results in real time unless you used baked textures. (Which it seems you are already doing).

Maybe the question is how can one get similar quality renders using engines such as Unreal or Cryengine? I know purchasing some plugins and camera effects can help with this as that is what other rendering application use. But yes having texture map/materials will help with the results.
