WheelJoint2D very bouncy
I have a basic side scroller with a car type object moving through terrain with jumps etc. The problem is that when the car lands it is very bouncy and shoots up in the air quite easily.
Any tips for adjusting this? Adding weight to the tires seems to help a bit.
Adding too much freuqency to the springs makes them stiffer, but seems to make this problem worse. It's weird that the frequency can go up to 1000000, but anything over 30 seems to make the car just bounce on the map like crazy.
I have materials for the wheels and terrain with zero bounciness.
The car weight is 1500, the tires are now 50 each.
The suspension is damping: 1, frequency: 15, angle: 90
Have tried to play with different gravity and linear/angular drag settings.
Any idea how to get this to behave more realistically? It's weird that a car weighing 1500kg jumps in the air like this...
Also, why is the spring dependent on the car weight?
If I have an item that wheighs 10kg and adjust the springs so that the item is not touching the ground, and thenm adjust the weight to 1500kg the item hits the ground. So how is the "frequency" related to the weight of the item? If you set the frequency too high then the spring is just ridiculously bouncy and the whole thing just flies up in the air.
