Change tiling on only one plane in editor
Hello,
In the Unity3d editor I added a texture to multiple planes. In order to get it to look good I have to change the tiling to match the scale of the plane. When I change the tiling on the component in any of the planes in the inspector all of them change. I cannot figure out what that behavior is occurring. Can anyone explain to me how I can changing the tiling setting of the texture on only the selected game object?
Thanks.

The tiling is a property of the material. You'll have to duplicate the material and use a different one for that plane.

That seems incredibly inefficient. Is there a better way?
As an example, if I use terrain and carve my pathways out of it, will the material cover it properly?
Thank you for the answer.
