Boxcollider2D OnTriggerStay2D not detecting anything at all

I have a Boxcollider2D attached to a gameobject. The GO has a rigidbody set to isKinematic, the Boxcollider2D is set to isTrigger also (As well as other colliders it should be detecting, and they all have the same settings). I also checked the Physics matrix and all that is in order. I'm honestly stumped. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

A copy of the trigger code:

 void OnTriggerStay2D(Collider2D collision)  
 {  
     print("collision working"); *<-- nothing prints at all*  
 }
