transfer a moving objects direction to another
Simply put, 3rd person game where character gets on boat and game becomes 1st person -ish. the player can jump from the moving boat - at which point I replace it with a prop boat many reasons why I need to do this . So if the boat is moving when the character jumps off, I don't want the replacement to spawn standing idle. Now, I do have it so the spawning prop boat takes on the speed of the boat the character was in before bailed out. But it is moving in world space - not the direction the moving boat was head ( unless it was heading perfectly straight on the Z axis. The simple line of code moving the prop boat below. I have a function that changes "myBoatSpeed" so it ( the empty boat) slows down . I just need it to be traveling in the same direction the moving boat was
rbBoat.velocity = transform.forward * myBoatSpeed;
