How to get 3D text that does not show through objects
This is a question that has been asked many times over the years. The answer has always been that it's a bug/feature of the standard Unity shader, and the solution is to install a customised shader, with font assets.
I don't like writing shaders to solve such a simple problem, and this one seems to come with its own problems.
Q1. Is this still so? Does anyone know why Unity hasn't fixed it by now?, or...
Q2. Is the answer now: just use TextMeshPro?
