Runtime passages through objects
I'm trying to crate a game where part of the core functionality is for users to place elevator shafts and windows and doorways. I have experimented with everything short of writing a complete XNA game engine. Is there any way with unity 4, using any plugins, projectors, scripted subtraction objects, ANYTHING to allow a user to dynamically place pathways through objects allowing passage of player or light without expensive overhead? I've read so many posts and tried so many things my head is Jello.
Something this dynamic can't use multiple planes with a hole in the middle, way to complex. And the mixing of premade meshes and scripting passthrough based on location is just as unfeasible.
