Best method to move player and detect collisions?
So i've been having trouble with my players movement. It has a rigidbody and collider attached, as do my walls/floor etc. I use rigidbody for his movement, but he bounces off of walls. So I then try to set him to be kinematic... Then he obviously walks straight through them. I'm not sure how people normally get around this. I've heard some recommend raycast out in your movement direction and calculating how far in that direction until an obstacle, but surely there is a simpler/more efficient way? This would also mean every one of my enemies would constantly be raycasting out to see if there were obstacles in their path. Can anyone offer some advice please?
