Unity3D and MacBook Air 2013

I'm going to buy MacBook Air 2013 with RAM 4G (because my budget is limited).I'm worrying about that is enough for making an indie game such as Spelunky , Mark of the Ninja or a game that graphics like final fantasy 7 original version? Thank you so much.

macbook airs are not powerful. theyre not designed with developers in $$anonymous$$d. i cant say what it would be like to develop on though. i would definitely get a 13" mbp over an air

well I currently run unity on a macboor pro retina 13" , which does a great job.

But I also have an 2011 (early 2012) Mac Mini with i5 and intel HD 3000, had it running on 2, 5 and now 8 gb ram and I need to say it manages unity very well, but I am mostly developing for mobile devices. I had some problems when the scene in editor became to big as the HD 3000 made unity crash. But except that I think that the macbook air would be something you could work with.

You didn't write which Macbook Air you wanted to get so there is a small performance between the 11" and the 13". If your budget is limited then you might want to consider the refurbished products at apple as you can get great deals on those ;)

I hope that kind of helped.

I'm a bit surprised. I just switched from a $$anonymous$$acBook Unibody 13" late 2008 (with a Geforce 9400$$anonymous$$) to a $$anonymous$$acBook Pro 13" Retina mid 2014 (with an Intel Iris), and though I have overall better performance, the graphics really sucks! Unity Editor crashes pretty often. Deferred lighting works for a $$anonymous$$ute or so until it says "UNSUPPORTED". I'm considering returning it for a $$anonymous$$BP 15" with an NVidia. I don't understand why Apple didn't put the option in the 13"!
