Blank buttons in Unity editor!?

Hello! I ran into a problem: all the buttons in the Unity editor are empty, i.e. there are no symbols and I don't see their designations. I downloaded Unity for the first time. I'm a total newbie to Unity and I have absolutely no idea why this is happening.

I see this same exact "missing editor button text" issue with both 2021.2.19 AND 2022.1.0b15--- my 2020.3.17 LTS version works fine. Anyone else seeing this issue? Thanks.
