Scanning for assets that need to be reimported
This seems to happen at key junctures (like when I switch the build settings to standalone to get around cross-domain issues), and takes a ridiculous amount of time. (More than 10 minutes). Is there any way to turn this off, or make it take less time?

I spoke to a support person about this, basically, no good way around this. Vote for it at feedback.unity3d.com though. I wouldn't mind if it kept separate folders for each platform (for libraries and/or temp) if that's what it's about.
