Pass MonoBehaviour as parameter

I created a helper script for populating multiple GameObject's scrollview with items. I'm using an object pool to get the items I put on the scrollviews. In certain cases, I wanted to add MonoBehaviour scripts to the items but I'm not sure if it's ok to do that or is it right to do that.

I'm using this code when adding single item:

 public void populateItem(Item item, MonoBehaviour additionalScript){
     if(item == null) return;
     GameObject gObj = GameMngr.instance.GetFileAdptrFromPool();
     ItemAdapterHandler adptrHandler = gObj.AddComponent<ItemAdapterHandler>();
     Image thumbnail = GameMngr.instance.FindInChildren(gObj, "thumbnail").GetComponent<Image>();
     RectTransform rt = gObj.GetComponent<RectTransform>();

     adptrHandler.SetName(item.GetName());
     adptrHandler.SetDescription(item.GetDescription());
     adptrHandler.setItem(item);
     adptrHandler.SetCallback(itemClickCallback);

     if(additionalScript != null){
         Debug.Log("adds xtraScripts");
         MonoBehaviour xtraScripts = gObj.AddComponent<MonoBehaviour>();
         xtraScripts = additionalScript;
     }
     gObj.transform.localScale = new Vector3(1f, 1f, 1f);

     thumbnail.sprite = item.GetThumbnail();

     gObj.SetActive(true);
     gObj.transform.parent = fileContainer.transform;
     rt.localScale = new Vector3(1f, 1f, 1f);
 }

Then I call it this way.

 helper.populateItem(i, new ExtraScript());

It runs, but the ExtraScript isn't being added to the GameObject.

  public void populateItem(Item item, params Type[] additionalScriptTypes){
      if(item == null) return;
      GameObject gObj = GameMngr.instance.GetFileAdptrFromPool();
      ItemAdapterHandler adptrHandler = gObj.AddComponent<ItemAdapterHandler>();
      Image thumbnail = GameMngr.instance.FindInChildren(gObj, "thumbnail").GetComponent<Image>();
      RectTransform rt = gObj.GetComponent<RectTransform>();

      adptrHandler.SetName(item.GetName());
      adptrHandler.SetDescription(item.GetDescription());
      adptrHandler.setItem(item);
      adptrHandler.SetCallback(itemClickCallback);

      if(additionalScript != null){
          for(int i = 0 ; i < additionalScriptTypes.Length ; ++i)
               gObj.AddComponent(additionalScriptTypes[i]);
      }
      gObj.transform.localScale = new Vector3(1f, 1f, 1f);

      thumbnail.sprite = item.GetThumbnail();

      gObj.SetActive(true);
      gObj.transform.parent = fileContainer.transform;
      rt.localScale = new Vector3(1f, 1f, 1f);
  }

  helper.populateItem(i, typeof(ExtraScript), typeof(OtherExtraScript));
