Project and build work only on certain PCs
This is my first project working on games at all, and overall I'm just a total noob with everything related.
So, we're doing a group project, and our project AND build work fine on all three of my computers (two laptops, one desktop). For another member of our group, it's a different story. The project and build both have the same issue:
We're expanding on Unity's tutorial project "2D Roguelike". When given the movement input, our character is meant to move one tile and stop before shortly being able to move again. This is how it works on my desktop, my laptop and my girlfriend's laptop, whether running the project or completed build. For my group member, the character moves slowly, without stopping, and eventually stops between tiles. The character's hitbox also seems to move all over the map, disregarding the position of the sprite. And he has the same issue whether running from the project or a build. And his PCs are proper gaming pcs, just like every other machine we've tested on. Every machine is also running Windows 10.
I have no clue where to even start looking. Any attempt at help is appreciated and I can share files if that helps.
Thanks!
$$anonymous$$y guess would be that some of your logic is resolution or framerate dependent. Or maybe some of your scripts have logic in Awake/Start that depends on other classes Awake/Start and script execution order changes between PCs resulting in strange behavior.
Thanks for the reply, that may be the case. There is logic in Awake/Start functions that depend on other classes Awake/Start. I just assumed that they always work in the same order. I guess it's time to go digging. I only wish I had access to one PC that had these issues.
