Question by Ross_S · Apr 26, 2013 at 05:29 PM · texture2dresolutionwebcamtexturephotohigh

How to take High Res photos ?

I'd like to use the device webcam to take photos at a resolution higher than the screen resolution. Obviously the phone can do this - but does anybody know how via unity?

EDIT: To be clearer - what i meant was to get at the photo resolution - so for example on my iPhone4 i can get at the 1280x720 video resolution via webCamTexture but not at the (approx)2600x2000 resolution of a photo...

thanks

You might take a look at Prime31's LiveTexture plugin for iOS:

You can pass a required width and height to the web cam texture and ask for larger images than the screen that way.

Yes, you're right - sorry my question wasn't well written - i meant how to get at the photo resolution - i think via webcamtexture you can only get at the max video resolution - so for example on my iphone4 i can get 1280x720 from webcamtexture but not the (approx)2600x2000 of a photo.

You should be able to ask for more than the screen resolution - are you using the right camera?
