Shadow from spot light gets cut (unrealistic)

Hi there, I have a little problem with my spot light. This spot light acts like a flashlight, so it moves with the player, but it gives me a little trouble. It casts real-time shadows, but whenever I get too close to some object (not really TOO close, but closer than for example 2 meters), the shadows starts to get cut and the closer I move towards to object, the bigger portion of the shadow gets cut. This creates a very unpleasant and non-realistic shadow effect. I tried to play around with some values of the spot light and I found out that range and bias values affect it. When I lower the range value, the cut portion gets smaller, but that's not what I want to modify because the range would then be too small for the flashlight to be usable. I also don't want to have shadow bias too big for obvious reasons. I'm uploading two pictures for you to see. The character stands in the exact same place on both of them. The first picture is with lowered spot light range, the second is what happens when I make the range value bigger (however the value on the screenshots is somewhere around 25-27, so I can't really use any of that because the range of my flashlight needs to be at least 50 to have the desired flashlight effect. However at that range the shadows are cut very noticably even when standing pretty far away from the object). Anybody knows if I can fix this somehow please? Thank you! :)
