Unity3d: dynamically adding new asset bundles without re-building the project into an apk
Hi,
I have a project at hand. Which required the user to dynamically upload new 3D models to an existing app built using unity.
So for example there is a repository of 10 3D models already built into assetbundles into the existing apk.
I need the user to be dynamically be able to add new fbx files to the repository. So I can host a windows server which converts fbx model to an asset bundle.
However I am searching for documentation which can help to dynamically link these new asset bundles to the app and show the newly uploaded 3D models inside the repository of app.
So my question: Is it possible to dynamically add asset bundles without rebuilding the project file? How?
Why not to use a runtime model importer? I have used an .obj importer in a case like that. The cms ad$$anonymous$$istrator uploads the models, and then the user sends a form from the app with searched models data and then gets the list of models, selects one and gets it to unity. The same should be possible with .fbx if you find a suitable importer on the Asset Store or somewhere.
