Define AnimatorController on import?

Is it possible to link an animator controller for an animated FBX on import? It is possible to override imported Materials in the Materials tab of the mesh-importer so that when you instantiate the FBX into a scene, it always uses those Materials. I rarely have the situation where I need one animated mesh to use different AnimatorControllers in different situations, so it would totally make sense to have this link set up without having to make a new prefab to store the override. Just wondering if Unity sees it that way too and I just haven't found the option to do so!
