UI Elements keep loosing graphic properties, textures aren't visible or outlines only

I'm nearing the end of designing my ui for a simple demo i'm putting together but right before i started going in and scripting the functionality this happened. Not sure what I did if anything. With my hands literally off the keyboard i watched all my buttons go from default which rectangles to outlines.

If I replace a button and put it back in exactly the same place in the hierarchy it renders fine for a minute but will disappear again. Any ideas? I've done all the usual save and restart yatta yatta...

Again, no code yet. simply dropping stock UI elements on screen.

Intel i7 5930K 3.5GHZ, NVidia Quadro K4000, 32 GB DDR4 2100 Mhz, 1TB SSD
