How to animate 2d topdown multiple direction
Hi, i'm creating a 2d topdown shooting game with pixel art ( 8 direction) with character customization, but currently i'm stucking at create animation for the character using skeletal so i dont have to redraw the spirte everytime something on the character changes.
The problem is : if i add a sprite ( character idle pose face the right direction) and create skeletal for that sprite and apply, that sprite will turn into a game object with all the bones i created for that sprite. But if i try to create another the sprite( running pose) and add animation for this sprite, when i trigger the event to move to the right and activate the running animation, all the bones location and rotation are messed up. Do i need to change the current character sprite to the running sprite game object i created just for running ? If so then would it impact the performance this is a high paced shooting ?

(this is 2 sprite i'm testing skeletal so it's not actually topdown)
I'm thinking of using Dragon Bones animate the base animation for 8 direction and then draw the equipment, but its still a lot of drawing if the player change the equipment for the character. For example, if the player change the hat of the character then i would need to redraw the hat for all 8 direction for each frame
Does anybody knows a better way to animate 2d in multiple direction with character customization ? Thanks in advance
