Have you tried reducing the near clipping pane or moving your camera back?

On your FirstPersonCharacter => Clipping Plane: Set near to 0.1.

Hope this helps

That's a setting on the camera, specifically.

http://docs.unity3d.com/$$anonymous$$anual/class-Camera.html

The nearClipPlane value on the camera (adjustable via editor or script alike) keeps things from being too much in your face by default. In the case of a first-person perspective, however, it may be suitable to either set it much closer to zero, if not actually to zero.
