Changing blood textures on melee weapons?
Hi, for my game, people can use a number of weapons in a number of ways. Say for example a poleaxe, it has a point on the top and back and a blade on the front. I like that if a player hits with the blade, it becomes bloody, and the same with the pointy ends. Each blood stain on the texture should be able to be toggled individually, so to say. You can also have hit with all 3 ends and have everything bloody. I know that I can change the texture of the weapon, but it seems a bit too elaborate to have a unique texture for each combination of blood stains. Is there a more efficient way of doing this? For example, the blood stains will be on different parts of the texture, so can I overlap a blood texture and just show different parts of it?
