Wheel Colliders - Cannot Attach to Vehicle/Super huge???
Hi Everyone - trying to get familiar with attaching wheel colliders to a vehicle. I've followed a few tutorials, but I decided to go ahead and make my own vehicle in Blender. I made the wheels separate objects that were still children of the overall object... couple of things. I initially noticed the wheel colliders were HUGE. Why is that??? I had to shrink down the size, suspension distance... that was a fun trip.
Next, I decided to have the vehicle drop a little from above ground. Now I have a different problem. This is how my vehicle looks before starting the scene in the game:
Cool. Wheel colliders SEEM to be the right size. I decided to go ahead and ignore the lower wheel colliders, whatever.
Then, I start the scene, the car drops on the ground:
Wait. What on Earth???
Has anyone run into a problem like this with their wheel colliders before? What am I doing wrong?
Should I be using a different approach?...

OK folks, I want to admit that I figured this out and I feel pretty lame for not seeing this before.
When you set the mass of the wheel colliders, you want to be sure that the MASS of these wheel colliders are relative to the mass of the actual car's rigidbody.
In my case, my rigidbody's mass was 100 or something, compared to a mass of 300 with the wheel colliders. The car bounced on the floor, shooting straight up and then going through the floor! (I've seen a post on somewhere experiencing this issue before).
Setting my car's rigidbody mass to 3000 and the wheel colliders to 300 allows my car to hit the floor as a expected, and adding a little drag allows it to come down on to the ground without too much of a bounce.
So yeah anyway. Problem solved. Thanks to anyone who read this to see if they can help, and I hope this helps someone in the future.
