soft-body physics?
Can Unity do Soft-Body Physics? I am looking to create something similar to this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KppTmsNFneg
the answer is simply No.
you probably want something like Bullet Physics. Good luck.
you mention you are a "simulation developer", then you're surely completely familiar with bullet. really, Unity has nothing at all to do with that type of field - they don't use Unity at Pixar.
Unity is a "classic" game engine. Good luck in your travels

Unity doesn't support soft body physics, but I've come close with a workaround by using Interactive Cloth physics and giving pressure to the mesh. Say you have a sphere that is an Interactive Cloth (assign in component > physics > interactive cloth). You'd need to set up a material, and assign a mesh as well, turn off mesh renderer so that only the cloth's material is renderered. The you can make this use gravity, and the more pressure you add the more it's like there's air inside. As long as it is a closed mesh, this should work.
Thanks for the help. I am a simulation developer and am running Unity Pro. I am defiantly interested in your plugin once you get it going.
i would like to start car games i use the free version if it works is it still able to work with free if you set it up iv been looking everywhere for how to make soft body thank you for trying to figure it out
@noahgamedesigner16: Don't post such, well, "questions" as answers. I've converted your post into a comment. However i don't think you will get anything new here. Unity only has rigidbody physics and cloth simulation. Nothing even close to softbody physics. I don't want to say that it's impossible in Unity, but you would have to roll your own system.
NoahGame, if you are genuinely interested in soft-body physics, go to http://bulletphysics.org/wordpress/. From your general lack of punctuation it's difficult to believe you could, at this stage, get much from it. If you are interested in "start car games", click to the asset store and buy one of the many excellent "car rigs" and have fun.
