Unity Version that works offline?
I would like to use Unity3d in a computer lab with no internet access. Can this be done? Is there an older version that will allow me to do this?
Thank you!
Yeah i was wondering about this too, seems strange that it tries to connect to the internet upon loading the app, I would one day like to bring my computer into work and use unity without the internet too
I'm actually having the same problem. It shows the work offline option but every time I press it. unity just goes blank and it won't load. @DracoRex @tanoshimi

Erm, any version of Unity? What makes you think you need an internet connection?
Thanks for the reply Tanoshimi! When a new user attempts to use it, it say's "Cannot connect to licence server". When you do connect it to the internet, it requires an email. So I'm trying to see if there is an older version or a way to get these kids to use it without these steps. It's for 8th and 9th graders so I'm not needing anything terribly robust.
That's only to connect to the licence server on first use. Follow the guide here as to how to do that offline: http://docs.unity3d.com/$$anonymous$$anual/$$anonymous$$anualActivationGuide.html
I haven't checked the Activation Guide, but I don't know why it wouldn't work. Answer given. Thanks for the time to help out, you're awesome!

Unity does work offline. When you start Unity and it detects that you dont have an internet connection it gives you the option to work offline. This is for the Unity 5.2.0f3. Not sure if it is the same for older Unity versions.
@DracoRex I wanted to download a template from the asset store to the offline version of my Unity. Can you help?
You can download the asset from an online version of Unity, and then copy the .unitypackage file to your offline version.
